Airparser alternative: Tiro – PDF data as a table, from Germany

Tiro as an Airparser alternative – prices in euros instead of US dollars, AI processing inside the EU, retention up to one year. An honest comparison.

By Christian Gerloff · Updated September 2, 2026

In short: Tiro is an Airparser alternative from Germany: upload PDFs and scans, the AI proposes the fields, and the result comes back as an Excel, CSV or JSON table. Billing is in euros, AI processing stays inside the EU, and documents may be kept for up to a year; a per-inbox email intake is something both offer by now. And honestly: a ready-made Zapier app is something Airparser has today – Tiro reaches Zapier and Make only through its webhooks so far, and per page Airparser is cheaper in the middle tiers.

Pricing compared (as of August 2026)

Both services bill in credits that expire at the end of the period – at Airparser 1 credit is a PDF page, email, image or HTML document, at Tiro it is a page. The big difference sits above the price list: Airparser bills exclusively in US dollars, Tiro in euros.

Read honestly, this means: below 100 pages Tiro is cheaper, from the middle tier up Airparser usually wins on pure price per page. If you decide on price per page alone and process large volumes, this page will not make you switch – the reasons for Tiro follow below.

Where Tiro wins

  • Euros instead of US dollars. The price is fixed in your currency and the invoice comes from Germany. With USD billing the amount moves with the exchange rate, and depending on your card, foreign transaction fees come on top.
  • AI processing inside the EU. According to its own subprocessor list (checked August 2026), Airparser has the AI work done by OpenAI and Anthropic in the United States – with a DPA, standard contractual clauses and no-training commitments, but your document contents do travel to a third country. Tiro calls Anthropic models through AWS Bedrock in the EU inference profile (Frankfurt); documents never leave the EU. An interesting detail: Airparser's compute runs on Hetzner servers in Germany, just like Tiro's – the difference lies in the AI calls and storage services.
  • Retention on your terms. Airparser's entry plan deletes after 30 days; the maximum is 180 days on the largest plan. Every paid Tiro plan may keep documents for up to a year – configurable per inbox, down to "delete right after export". For documents with evidence obligations, that is the practical difference.
  • Native-language product. Interface, legal texts and the downloadable DPA are written in German and English rather than machine-translated – the paperwork for your privacy review sits on the security page.

Where Airparser does more today – honestly

  • More intake formats: besides PDFs, images and emails, Airparser also reads HTML documents. Tiro currently processes PDFs, images and emails (mail text + attachments) – via upload, REST API or the inbox's email address; further formats are planned.
  • Integrations: Ready-made apps for Zapier, Make and others ship with every Airparser plan. Tiro offers webhooks (signed, retried for a day) and the REST API in every plan – so “Webhooks by Zapier” and the HTTP triggers of Make and n8n work today; its own directory apps are on the roadmap.
  • Price per page at volume: from the Growth tier (500 credits for $49 yearly) Airparser is usually cheaper per page, and above 5,000 credits there are high-volume plans on request. Tiro's ladder currently ends at 3,000 pages.
  • Teams: unlimited team members from the Business plan up.

If your workflow depends on Zapier automation or very large volumes today, Airparser is (still) the better choice for you. This page stays honest even where that hurts.

Who should switch now

Tiro fits if you process PDFs, scans or photos and use the result as an Excel or CSV table – invoices, delivery notes, bank statements, test reports and other document types. Especially when your privacy review requires AI processing inside the EU, you need a euro invoice, documents must stay available longer than 180 days, or your volume sits between 20 and 3,000 pages. How it works

  1. Create an inbox

After signing up you give the inbox a name – that is all the setup the start requires. You know the concept from Airparser, where it carries the same name.

  2. Upload the same PDFs

On the first upload the AI proposes matching fields. You rebuild your Airparser extraction fields in minutes – a name per field and, optionally, an instruction, just like the GPT instructions you are used to.

  3. Download the table or fetch it via API

Every further document lands in the same table shape, with ISO dates and real numbers. Export as Excel or CSV in the browser, or fetch the result as JSON through the REST API.

Frequently asked questions

How does Tiro's pricing compare to Airparser's?

Both start free with 20 credits per month. Below 100 pages Tiro is cheaper (Nano, 50 pages for €25); from the middle tier up Airparser usually wins on price per page (500 credits for $49 on yearly billing). Tiro bills in euros, Airparser exclusively in US dollars (as of August 2026).

Can Tiro receive documents by email like Airparser?

Yes. Every inbox has its own email address that senders can deliver to directly, or that you forward to from Outlook/Gmail; the mail text and its attachments are processed. The email itself costs no credit – what counts is the content (PDF per page, image each, text per 3,000 words started).

Where does the AI processing run?

Tiro calls Anthropic models through AWS Bedrock in the EU inference profile (Frankfurt) – documents never leave the EU, and there is no training on your data. Airparser's own subprocessor list names OpenAI and Anthropic in the United States as its AI services (as of August 2026).

How long are my documents retained?

At Airparser between 30 and 180 days depending on the plan. At Tiro the free plan keeps documents up to 90 days and paid plans up to one year – configurable per inbox, down to "delete right after export" if you prefer.

Can I bring my Airparser schemas over?

Yes, manually and quickly – the principle is the same. You define fields per inbox, each with a name and an optional instruction describing what to extract. On the first upload the AI proposes fields that you merely adjust.

Will I get an invoice in euros?

Yes. Tiro is based in Germany and bills in euros. Airparser bills exclusively in US dollars – so the euro price fluctuates with the exchange rate, plus possible foreign transaction fees depending on your card.
